Summary<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Multiplying two whole numbers gives a products. The numbers that we multiply are the\u00a0factors<\/em>\u00a0of the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example: 3 \u00d7 5 = 15<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

therefore, 3 and 5 are the factors of 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example 2: What are the factors of 12?
3 \u00d7 4 = 12, so 3 and 4 are factors of 12<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 \u00d7 6 = 12, so 2 and 6 are also factors of 12
and 1 \u00d7 12 = 12, so 1 and 12 are factors of 12 as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example 3:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1,2,3,4,6, and 12 then  what is 12 called with respect to 1,2,3,4,5 and 12<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1×2=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2×6=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3×4=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4×3=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6×2=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12×1=12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So 12 is the multiple of 1,2,3,4,6, and 12<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Example: Which are the two numbers to be multiplied to get the product 8 ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
