Lal Bahadur Shastri
After the death of Lal Bhadur Shastri father his family was suffering finically. While his family had no link to independence movement a most respectful teacher by name Nishkameshwar Prasad Mishra, who gave Shastri much-needed financial support by allowing him to tutor his children.inspired by his teacher Mishra Shastri took interest in freedom struggle and begin to study history. When Shastri was Studying 10th Std for final examination he attained a public meeting in Benares hosted by Gandhi and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Inspired by mahatma Gandhi call for students to with draw from government school and join the non-co-operative movement Shastri withdrew from Shastri withdrew from Harish Chandra High School the next day and joined the local branch of the Congress Party as a volunteer and participating picketing and anti-government demonstrations. He was arrested and jailed, but was then let off as he was still a minor. Later . P Kripalani follower of Gandhi was in need of young volunteer to educate the young activists in their nation’s heritage. He was the first student new institution Shastri graduated the first class degree He was given the title Shastri (Scholar).The title was a bachelor’s degree awarded by the institution but it stuck as part of his name. Later Shastri became an active member of the Indian national congress at the call of Mahatma Gandhi. He was sent to prison for one year, for offering individual Satyagraha support to the independence movement following the Indian Independence Shastri was appointed Parliamentary Secretary in his home state, Uttar Pradesh. He became the Minister of Police and Transport. In 1951, Shastri was made the General Secretary of the All India Congress party with Jawarlal Nehru as Prime Minister. He was directly responsible for electing for selecting the candidates and direction of electioneering activities. And after of death of Jawarlal Nehru then Congress Party President K.Kamaraj was instrumental in making Shastri Prime Minister and he headed the party.
